Festivals in Stratford Upon Avon, Stay in a Bed And Breakfats For The Perfect Weekend.
Stratford upon Avon Literary FestivalFor a unique short break why not got to the Literary Festival and stop in a Bed and Breakfast in Stratford Upon Avon. As the spring starts to turn to summer could there be a more relaxing break than the Stratford Literary Festival 2010. Running from Monday 26th of April through to Monday the 3rd of May the festival will aid you in getting rid of those winter blues.
In 2009 the Stratford Literary Festival gave us such talented speakers as Pam Ayres, Melvyn Bragg, Libby Purves, Gloria Hunniford, Philip Reeve, Julian Clary and Stuart Maconie. With the dates announced for 2010 it has got to be the time to start planning. Alongside the bestselling authors that will appear there promises to be another set of children's events. In a bold step this year the Stratford Literary Festival has commissioned a novella for this year. Leila Rasheed is presently writing the novella which will be based in Stratford and will be published in time for the festival. In addition to this local art students will be designing the cover.
So why not gather the family together, book yourself into a Bed and Breakfast in Stratford Upon Avon, visit the Literary festival and see the sights of our historic town.
Stratford upon Avon CAMRA Festival
If you are a fan of real ale and are looking for a unique short break this summer why not pay a visit to the Beer and Cider Festival and stop in a Bed and Breakfast in Stratford Upon Avon. 2010 marks the 4th anniversary of the CAMRA Stratford Upon Avon Beer and Cider Festival and this year looks as promising as the previous three. Running on Friday 18th June from 2.00pm until 11.00pm and Saturday the 19th June from 11.00am until 11.00pm the festival promises to be the finest ever.
Based at the Stratford Upon Avon Racecourse, the Beer and Cider Festival is only a five minute taxi ride from the Town Centre giving you the only excuse you need to book into a nice bed and breakfast in Stratford Upon Avon town centre and make a weekend of it. As always the entrance costs are minimal and all sessions are free to CAMRA members who have a member's card.

Investments that are easy to hide?
My dad was asking me about places he could hide some money. His wife has a bipolar problem and while she?s usually okay, but once or twice a year she flies off the handle for a few weeks and spends sometimes as much as twenty thousand dollars on random stuff ? gambling, furniture, vacations, even a Corvette once. ?But it?s USED?, she said ? thinking she got a great deal.
This was fine when he was working. He just put up with it and worked harder. But he retired this year and really doesn?t want to go back to work. He cancelled all their credit cards, so that was step one. But last month he finds out she found the checkbook to the almost paid-off home-equity line against the house and ran up $12,000 to ?surprise? him with a retirement party?
She?s not malicious about it, just kind of crazy. When she?s on her down-cycle, she?s all weepy and guilt-ridden for spending money. Then she hits her up-cycle and it?s all ?You only live once!? And yes, that?s while she?s on her meds. I moved out of the house before she started them ? life was unusual then? My dad?s big concern is that she?ll call the bank and spend the nest-egg, they have about $175,000 saved up for retirement in an IRA. Besides the formerly debt-free house, that?s all they?ve got.
So the kicker, her son is a CPA and does my dad?s taxes. So he tells my step-mom exactly where all the money is at. My dad figured this out after he tried to move the IRA to an account she didn?t know about and got an earful from her. The IRA is all money from his job, she?s never worked beyond selling some Avon 30 years ago.
Are there any places my dad could put money that would be easy to hide? He keeps joking with me, "Son, I'm just going to buy a bunch of gold and bury it on my brother's grave so she can't find it." I'm hoping he is not serious, but he seems at wit's end.
