In 2009 the Stratford Literary Festival gave us such talented speakers as Pam Ayres, Melvyn Bragg, Libby Purves, Gloria Hunniford, Philip Reeve, Julian Clary and Stuart Maconie. With the dates announced for 2010 it has got to be the time to start planning. Alongside the bestselling authors that will appear there promises to be another set of children's events. In a bold step this year the Stratford Literary Festival has commissioned a novella for this year. Leila Rasheed is presently writing the novella which will be based in Stratford and will be published in time for the festival. In addition to this local art students will be designing the cover.

If you are a fan of real ale and are looking for a unique short break this summer why not pay a visit to the Beer and Cider Festival and stop in a Bed and Breakfast in Stratford Upon Avon. 2010 marks the 4th anniversary of the CAMRA Stratford Upon Avon Beer and Cider Festival and this year looks as promising as the previous three. Running on Friday 18th June from 2.00pm until 11.00pm and Saturday the 19th June from 11.00am until 11.00pm the festival promises to be the finest ever.

Based at the Stratford Upon Avon Racecourse, the Beer and Cider Festival is only a five minute taxi ride from the Town Centre giving you the only excuse you need to book into a nice bed and breakfast in Stratford Upon Avon town centre and make a weekend of it. As always the entrance costs are minimal and all sessions are free to CAMRA members who have a member's card.
